Usually, I enhance the photos I use for my blog (An Authentic Life), but not today.
Today, there was no need, for the Montana summer sun was shining and the Big Sky skies were bluer-than-blue. This is the time of year I especially love living in Big Sky Country.
An Authentic Life wishes all a very happy (and safe) 4th of July!

To our delight, we even saw a moose (there are actually three of them hidden in here, but only one was brave enough to be photographed!)

Reminds me with fond memories of the many times we went to Hyalite Lake (over 50 years ago) when I was growing up in Bozeman. I've seen moose there too.
On year when I was in college on the Fourth of July we hiked up to the west (below the lake, I think) with our skis and skied back down on a long snowbank.
One year several of us spent Christmas vacation at a cabin east of the Lake and went ice skating every night on the lake, which happened to be snow free that year.
Another year we spent most of the Memorial Day weekend refinishing a sailboat, staying up around the clock. On Monday we sleepily drove up to the lake to try it out, in the rain.
